You can find all the latest Fete news at www.facebook.com.ComptonVillageFete. Proceeds will be shared between various village causes, including: the Allotments (50% of the plant stall, plus 10% of profit), Compton Club (50% of beer stall, plus 25% of profit), Compton Little Theatre (50% of tea ’tent’, plus 10% of profit), Compton NEWS (£800), St Nicholas Church (50% of cakes & preserves stall, plus 15% of profit) and the Village Hall (15% of profit). Given the unfortunate continued need, this year our chosen charity (25% of profit) will again be Godalming & Villages Community Store. We’re looking forward to seeing you on what will be a fun day for all ages. Don’t forget to bring plenty of cash!
Volunteers needed Stall volunteers. The Fete is run purely by volunteers and your village needs you! In particular, we are looking for helpers for the Bouncy Castles, Barbeque, Beer Tent, Parking, Pick-a-Card and the Loseley ice cream van. If you can volunteer even an hour of your time, please contact Miriam Morris on morrisclare77@gmail.com. Set up/take down volunteers. Many hands are needed to set up in the morning and take down at the end of the day. A regular but small team put in a lot of work before the event and on the day, starting at an unsociable hour, planning and managing the layout, hanging the bunting, transporting tables, chairs, litter bins, stakes and ropes and, most importantly, directing car parking. They can always do with more hands at the pump! Please contact James Saunders, jameswgsaunders5@hotmail.com or Nick Palmer on 01483 810663 /nicholas.palmer6@btinternet.com.
